Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. At all times, Technology Fund Management Pty Ltd (“TFM”) and all related and associated entities (“TFM” or “We”) will endeavour to comply with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Australian Privacy Act.

TFM will ensure that, wherever possible, it protects the privacy of any personal information it obtains. TFM may need to disclose some personal information to organisations that assist in operating TFM and carry out administration functions on behalf of TFM. Any such disclosure will be done on a strictly confidential basis.

TFM will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that it holds is protected against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

How and why we collect personal information?

TFM collects the following personal information in order to conduct its business:

  • Business contacts: Often TFM is required to collect personal information from people it does business with. Usually this happens when we collect the name and business contact details of a person who is the contact in a government agency or company we deal with, or in one of our contractors or suppliers.

  • TFM Website users: TFM may also collect personal information through its website. For instance, if you make a submission using the contact form on the website.

Will TFM share your personal information?

TFM will not sell, rent, trade or share personal information about you to or with others. Personal information collected by may be disclosed to:

  • Related bodies corporate of TFM

  • Outsourced specialist third parties

Generally, we require that organisations outside of TFM who handle or obtain personal information as service providers to TFM acknowledge the confidentiality of this information, undertake to respect any individual’s right to privacy and comply with the National Privacy Principles and this policy.

The only other time TFM would make disclosures of personal information is if we are required to do so by law, or if the disclosure is permitted under the Privacy Act.

Storage of personal information

Safeguarding the privacy of your information is important to us. TFM takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it holds is secure from unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. TFM only permits your details to be accessed by authorised personnel.

Do I have the right to check what personal information is held by TFM?

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to obtain a copy of any personal information which TFM holds about you and to advise TFM of any perceived inaccuracy.

TFM may ask you to pay its reasonable costs of responding to your request. We will acknowledge your request within 14 days and respond promptly to it.

Website Collection of Personal and Non-Personal Information

Google Analytics website measurement software may be used to assist in tracking traffic patterns to and from TFM websites, anonymously surveying users of the sites. The Google Analytics system is used to collect such information as the number of unique visitors, how long these visitors spend on the website when they do visit, and common entry and exit points into and from the website.

This non-personal information is collected and aggregated by Google and can be provided to us to assist in our analysis of our websites. You cannot be identified personally from this information and no personal information is stored about you.

Additionally, the TFM website may also uses cookies. Most web browsers are set by default to accept cookies. However, if you do not wish to receive any cookies you may set your browser to either prompt or refuse cookies, but this may mean you cannot access all the features of the website. We may use cookies for tracking the statistics about the use of our website. This can allow us to improve the layout and functionality of our website. This tracking will be conducted in such a way to ensure the anonymity of visitors. The cookie may identify your computer, but it should not identify you.

Our website may contain links to other websites, for your convenience and information. When you access a website other than our website, please understand that TFM is not responsible for the privacy practices of that site. We suggest that you review the privacy policies of each site you visit.

When transmitting personal information from your computer to the TFM website, you must keep in mind that the transmission of information over the Internet is not completely secure or error-free. In particular, e-mails sent to or from the TFM website may not be secure, and you should therefore take special care in deciding what information you send to TFM via e-mail. Other than liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, TFM will not be liable in any way in relation to any breach of security or any unintended loss or disclosure of that information.

This Privacy Policy is available to anyone who requests it, either at our offices or through our website. TFM may change this Privacy Policy at any time.
